Dermal fillers and injectables, in general, provide many benefits, such as no downtime, long-lasting results and immediate improvements. Radiesse® offers several unique benefits: The mechanism by which Radiesse® softens wrinkles stimulates your natural collagen production. The FDA has approved the use of lidocaine with Radiesse® to enhance patient comfort during the injections. Results of Radiesse® treatments may last up to one year or longer. Radiesse® maintains a high level of satisfaction amongst our patients. The gel formula of Radiesse® contains calcium hydroxyapatite microspheres. When Radiesse® is injected into your skin, the tiny spheres immediately lift the skin. This process stimulates the production of collagen, which is your skin’s natural support structure. As we age, collagen levels in the skin decrease and the skin eventually collapses inward. This is the genesis of your wrinkles. Because our bodies are already producing less collagen, Radiesse® is one of the only anti-aging solutions for replenishing the collagen we need to address advanced wrinkles.
First developed for cosmetic use by Drs. Jean and Alastair Carruthers, Botox® injections are simple, fast, and effective when administered by a trained professional. Also known as onabotulinumtoxin A, Botox® is a sterile drug created from purified bacterium Clostridium botulinum in an FDA-approved laboratory. When used by medical experts in small doses for cosmetic procedures, there is absolutely no risk of the patient contracting botulism from Botox® injections. It’s important to understand that when properly administered, Botox® does not impact facial expressions such as smiling and frowning. The overall goal of Botox® injections is to help soften the creases in the skin while maintaining a natural, healthy look and feel. Botox® is used to treat a variety of locations on the face and neck, including: Frown lines between the eyebrows, Wrinkles on the forehead, Crow’s Feet (fine wrinkles on the outer edges of the eyes), Creases above the cheekbones, How Botox® Works, Botox® works by blocking the chemical signals to the nerves just below the skin. The skin then relaxes and smooths out naturally, minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles caused by repetitive creasing in the skin.
Kybella® revolutionizes treatment for a double chin, a condition that results from the development of excess fat just under the chin to the top of the neck. Liposuction and neck lifts have been the only method for toning this area, but now our patients have a non-surgical solution. Kybella® is an injectable product that gradually reduces fat associated with a double chin. With Kybella®, you enjoy: A gradual reduction in your double chin, No surgery, incisions, downtime or scarring, Treatment times of less than one hour, Results in approximately 16 weeks. Kybella® is formulated with a special acid that is found naturally in the digestive tract. The acid works to break down fat in the foods that we consume. By harvesting this unique property, Kybella® offers a non-surgical, minimally-invasive approach to reducing double chins. The acid targets fat cells and penetrates the outer membrane. This process destroys the fat cells, and the body naturally eliminates the released fat.
Juvéderm® is one of the most well-known names in dermal fillers and injectables, and Southern Vein & Laser Center is proud to offer these treatments to our patients. Lines and wrinkles develop because your body produces less of the key substances that are critical for young skin, namely collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid (HA). Juvéderm® contains hyaluronic acid to replenish these levels and “fill in” lines and wrinkles. Men and women choose Juvéderm® treatments for the following benefits: Non-surgical, No scarring, No downtime, Treatment takes less than one hour, Results may last 12 months or longer. Hyaluronic acid works in your skin by attracting water molecules. HA binds with the water to hold it in the skin, which increases volume and hydration. When Juvéderm® is administered along a line or wrinkle, the gel immediately lifts the skin. As the HA increases the number of water molecules, the “lift” is stabilized for 12 months or longer. Juvéderm® is administered with a very small needle, and several injections are made along the line or wrinkle. Our nurse injectors are experienced in these treatments, and place just the right amount of product in the layers of skin. Juvéderm® may be recommended for: Nasolabial folds (parentheses from the nose to mouth) Vertical lines around the lips

Lip enhancement has gained in popularity thanks to celebrities and other public figures. Having well-defined, full lips is not only considered attractive, but this cosmetic feature is also associated with youthfulness. The traditional option for lip enhancement is implants, but this approach has limitations and does not always produce natural-looking results. Dermal fillers are emerging as a better way to enhance a person’s lips, but even this solution is not appealing to many as the results are inconsistent. Volbella® was specifically designed for natural-looking lip enhancement that offers the longest-lasting results available. Like other dermal fillers for lip enhancement, Volbella® is a minimally-invasive treatment that requires no downtime. What sets Volbella® apart, though, is that the formulation produces the most natural results that may last longer than other dermal fillers. Volbella® contains hyaluronic acid which works in the skin to increase the amount of water molecules. This, in turn, adds volume and hydration. The result is fuller, softer lips without implants with results that may last up to 12 months. A secondary benefit to Volbella® treatments is that you may also see a reduction in vertical lip lines, also known as “smoker’s lines.” This gives your lip area a younger, more attractive appearance.

Voluma® is: Specifically formulated for adding volume to the mid-face and cheek area A non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment Comfortable and quick, with most treatments taking less than one hour Long-lasting Keeping proper, healthy levels of water in your skin translates into hydration and volume. The hyaluronic acid in Voluma® works naturally to attract and bind with water molecules. After the treatment, your cheeks look fuller, yet natural. We use a very small needle to inject Voluma® into the layers of skin in the cheek and mid-face area. Several injections are needed to maintain and enhance the natural contours. The gel has an instant volumizing effect, which is maintained by the interaction between the hyaluronic acid and water. After the treatment, your cheeks may feel tight and somewhat tender. You may also notice slight bleeding from each of the injection sites, as well as bruising and swelling. These symptoms are associated with the actual injection and not the product. You should notice a reduction in these symptoms over two to three days. Voluma® cheek enhancement treatments produce results that may last up to two years.
Many men and women prefer fat transfer and injections over dermal fillers and injectables because the procedure uses their own fat. This reduces the likelihood of having an allergic reaction. The treatment takes less than one hour in most cases, and there is little to no downtime. How Fat Transfer and Injections Treatments Work Fat transfer and injections work by harvesting excess fat from your abdomen, thighs, arms, back, buttocks or other area and injecting it into an area that needs enhanced volume or anti-aging benefits. The amount of fat that is removed is very minimal, so you will not see a significant difference in the harvest area. What to Expect from Fat Transfer and Injections Treatments Our fat transfer and injections treatment is a two-step process. The first step involves removing excess fat using a liposuction technique. A small incision is made in the skin to allow access to the fat layer with a cannula. This small tube is used to loosen and remove the fat. The collected fat is then purified and loaded into a syringe. For the second step, we carefully inject the fat cells into the treatment area. This technique allows us to carefully lift and sculpt the area. Recovery from fat transfer and injections focuses on the extraction site as well as where the fat was injected. The extraction site may feel tender and swollen for a few days or longer. The treatment site may appear slightly swollen, and it may feel tight due to the additional volume in the skin. You should see the symptoms slowly disappear over the first 48 to 72 hours.
